Frequently Asked Questions about Using Red Light Therapy at Home
Is red light therapy safe?
Yes. Red light therapy is harmless to the human body, and unlike other laser treatments or tanning beds, red light therapy does not use ultraviolet light (which can cause skin damage).
How long should the treatment be?
Daily use is the key. We recommend at least once a day, but not at bedtime.
Is it safe for my eyes?
You can wear glasses, we recommend using this product initially in a well-lit room to allow your eyes to adjust to the light. You may see blue/green after first use, this is completely normal as your eyes are adjusting to the bright light.
Should I take off my clothes?
Full nudity is not required. Lighter clothing such as underwear, bras, shorts, and socks can be worn without getting in the way of treatment.
What are the health benefits of red light therapy?
Red light therapy has been proven beneficial in thousands of medical research reports and clinical studies. Some of these benefits include reducing inflammation and pain relief, reducing recovery time and muscle soreness, improving sleep, regenerating hair, and helping with mood disorders.
Are there any side effects?
Everyone is different, and while red light therapy doesn’t have many side effects, in rare cases, users experience photosensitivity or heat allergies from red light therapy. Therefore, when using it for the first time, leave it on the application site for five minutes and stop using it immediately if there is any pain or discomfort. If there is no adverse reaction, increase the use time to 10 minutes, and if there is no adverse reaction, increase the time successively until 20 minutes.
